RobotX

RobotX is the most advanced competition that RoboNation hosts. Teams of college students from around the world build on a 16′ WAM-V manufactured by Marine Advanced Robotics for their Autonomous Surface Vessle (ASV) and design and build their own Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) so the two systems can work together to complete tasks. Previously the competition was for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) working with the ASV. The competition tasks are designed so teams will innovate to increase proficiency and inventiveness for maritime robotics.

Competing as a College and High School Team in 2022

As we were competiting in RoboSub, our team had considered applying to compete in RobotX. In 2021 our team worked with our mentors to write up a proposal to apply as a RobotX team. Our proposal went through and as all teams who get accepted, we recived a WAM-V. Our team will be competiting in the 2022 RobotX competition which will be hosted in Sydney, Australia. We are also exploring the Virtual RobotX (VRX) competition. Pictured to the left is the Sydney International Regatta Centre, the location of the 2022 competition.
